Editing Track Properties

Track properties can be easily edited in several ways. Note that whenever properties are changed, by default, associated tags are updated (see Tag Configuration for details). If the tag is malformed, it may not automatically update (see Synchronizing Your Tags  for details).

Quick Edits via the Explorer

The MediaMonkey Explorer allows you to quickly make simple changes to Track properties:

Quick Edits of Ratings and Classifications

To change ratings of any Track on the fly, right-click any Track or right-click on the system tray icon and select My Rating.

To change ratings and classiifcations on the fly, enable the Categorize Toolbar. Right-click anywhere on the Toolbar, and enable Categorize. This toolbar will allow you to change the Rating, Tempo, Mood, Occasion, or Quality in a flash.

Edit via the Properties Dialog

If you want to have access to all of a Track's properties, you'll need to perform edits via the Properties Dialog--simply click Edit > Properties . Change the desired fields, and press 'Ok'.

Note: If you want this dialog to remain open so that you can edit other Tracks in your Library, click View > Properties . To commit any changes you've made to the current Track and edit the previous/next song, click one of the arrows.

Edit Properties of Numerous Tracks at Once

To change the properties of several Tracks at once, select the Tracks you want to edit, click Edit > Properties , and make the desired change to any property. Make certain that the property you wish to change is checked and click 'Ok' -- the changes will be made for all of the selected Tracks.
